NEW YORK, NY – All Street Gallery is pleased to present Katz’s Bodega, a group exhibition featuring Spencer Katz, Akiva Listman, City Kitty, Hiss, Matthew Hanzman, Choice Royce, Shaan Ken Rao, Belowkey, Fumero, Loryn Cook, Nicholas Cordeiro, SacSix, Turtle Caps, Cinco., Gouch, Matt Furman, Outersource, Sammy Bennett, and Zero Productivity. The exhibition is curated by Spencer Katz and will be on view from August 16 - August 23 at All Street’s Chinatown location, 119 Hester Street, New York, NY, 10002. The opening reception will take place on August 16, from 6:00PM - 9:00PM.

Whether you need a snack, some hot food, or any household appliances, the bodega is the place you can count on 24/7 to serve you in a timely and convenient manner. Who wants to waste hours in line at a highly overpriced grocery store when you can support a local business and be more time-efficient? If you’re lucky, you might even get to say hello to your friendly neighborhood bodega cat! 

A bodega is also a place for people to come together and relate to each other. It is practically a tradition, this routine of bodega hang-out time over a coffee or an unbeatable bacon egg and cheese. Bodega activities span the gamut - staring at the fading television hanging precariously from the ceiling corner, playing games with the other bodega-goers, reminiscing about the good old days. To some, the local “ocky” is not only a familiar face, but also a trustworthy friend; this is someone you have faith in to watch the kids or hold your keys. After all, they always say, if you’re ever in trouble, run to the bodega. 

Katz’s Bodega transforms All Street’s Chinatown location into your local corner store, presenting an exciting variety of artwork that highlights New York City’s street art culture. Katz accentuates New York graffiti art and the street-side, corner store design of bodegas that local New Yorkers interact with on a daily basis. A true ode to New York City’s neighborhood experience, Katz’s Bodega is a collaboration with 18 New York artists to celebrate the bodega, and the community that it represents.
